Using Your S-P-A-C-E Wisely

One of the most valuable things I learned while training with Julie Morganstern was the S-P-A-C-E Principle. I use it for every organizing project, whether it's a garage or a purse. I love it because you follow the same steps, yet generate a unique, custom-fit solution. Each letter in the acronym represents a different step in the organizational process:

S - sort

P - purge

A - assign a home

C - containerize

E - establish a maintenance plan (Julie uses "equilibrate", but it means the same thing)

This step-by-step method is a great tool to use when you feel overwhelmed with an organizing project, and you're not sure where to start.
