Using Your S-P-A-C-E Wisely

July 22, 2014

One of the most valuable things I learned while training with Julie Morganstern was the S-P-A-C-E Principle.  I use it for every organizing project, whether it's a garage or a purse.  I love it because you follow the same steps, yet generate a unique, custom-fit solution.  Each letter in the acronym represents a different step in the organizational process:

S - sort

P - purge

A - assign a home

C - containerize

E - establish a maintenance plan (Julie uses "equilibrate", but it means the same thing)

This step-by-step method is a great tool to use when you feel overwhelmed with an organizing project, and you're not sure where to start.  When you use this technique, you will end up with an organized space that fits the way you live.  However, if you need a little help getting started, feel free to drop us a line
